The drawbrigde

The castle-gate behind the drawbridge is the only access and it didn't change it's appearance through the centuries.
On the lower right-hand-side part of the large massive oak-door is situated the "eye of a needle", a very small gate, which was known already for Martin Luther. His remark, "it's easier for a camel to pass a eye of a needle, than for a rich man to come into heaven", is probably based on his knowledge of Wartburg Castle.
